This hotspot calls itself a “modern Tiki spot.” Come here to feel like you’re in Hawaii with amusing cocktails like the “Curse of Pele,” made with Navy-strength Jamaican rum, lime, grapefruit, pineapple falernum, orgeat and bitters. Their “Rum Barrel” cocktail is so potent the bar only allows one per customer!
Squirrel Hill Sports Bar

This quintessential sports bar has everything you need for a fun night out. There’s 10 HD TVs and projection screens, happy hour nightly from 4-6 p.m., pool tables, darts and more. There’s also a stage for bands and DJs to get your music on. The bar has been featuring the “Fighting Squirrel Nutty Ale,” dubbed Squirrel Hill’s first beer.

The Squirrel Cage or just “the cage”…This popular neighborhood spot stays open until 2 a.m. every single night. Cheap beers and drinks go great with the cafe’s “sandwich cage,” with sandwiches like a meatball sub for only $4.75 and a grilled cheese for just $2.75. You can’t beat prices like that! If salad is more your game, the Squirrel Hill Cafe puts fries on theirs, like true Pittsburghers!

The Independent Brewing Company has classic cocktails like Manhattans, gimlets and old-fashioneds. Two dozen local spirits are also on hand to try as well as bourbons, scotches, whiskeys and ryes. The warm hospitality and careful mixing of drinks make The Independent Brewing Company a quiet place to enjoy a well-crafted cocktail.

Silky’s offers old-school fun like a jukebox and shuffleboard for bar-goers. Wednesdays after 9 are $2.75 draft bottles that according to Silky’s viewers, pair perfectly with delightfully salty waffle fries. Silky’s also offers a great beer selection and a decent chicken wing to go with said drafts.
