Five Great Things to Do in Greenfield for any Season

Are you a proud Greenfield resident or did you just move to the area? We created a list of five great things to do in Greenfield.

Visit a Festival

Things to Do in Greenfield

Greenfield has lots of festivals throughout the year for each season. There’s the 4th of July races at Magee Field, a summer festival at St. Rosalia’s in June and a holiday parade. Perhaps the most fun part of it all is Santa at the end of the holiday parade, who rolls up on the flatbed of a truck throwing hard candy at the crowd.

Order a Giant Pizza at Rialto’s

Warning: you might not be able to fit this one through the door. The 28-incher averages to 49 slices of pizza, so this one is one to order with your whole crew. It can be ordered as a regular or white pizza with unique toppings like ricotta, cheddar and french fries. It’s best to eat the giant pizza at Rialto’s, or risk not being able to get it in your car!

Visit Escape Room Pittsburgh

Things to Do in Greenfield

You may have heard about the new escape room craze. Pittsburgh has its own version now on Greenfield Ave. The premise of the game locks your friends and you into a room and you have to solve puzzles in order to get out. You can compete against others to see who gets out first. Escape Room Pittsburgh is open from 4:30-11 p.m.

Visit One of Greenfield’s Churches

Things to Do in Greenfield

Greenfield is home to many beautiful historic churches. St. Rosalia’s is nearly 100 years old, then there’s the Greenfield Presbyterian Church, who also has a hundred year history (so does St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church—where Andy Warhol attended). Not only are they places of worship, they are almost like museums that display a huge part of Greenfield’s history.

Hang out at Big Jim’s

Recently featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Big Jim’s has been serving the Greenfield area since 1977. Enjoy a big bowl of Italian wedding soup, or a spicy hot Italian sausage hoagie. Big Jim’s also offers hot dinners, like a 10 oz. New York strip steak served with salad, coleslaw, fries or spaghetti and garlic toast. You’ll want to check out Big Jim’s for its neighborhood vibe (it has a lot of regulars!) and delicious cuisine.
