Pittsburghers might be seeing a little more of the Wahlbergs—as in Donnie, Mark and Paul—in town. The celebrity brothers announced they are opening two new locations of their popular burger joint Wahlburgers in the Pittsburgh area. Although the locations haven’t been announced just yet, WTAE is reporting that one is expected to open before the end of the year.
The Wahlbergs are well-known Patriots fans, yet Mark Wahlberg seems to appreciate what our city is all about. He said, “I’m a big fan of Pittsburgh. It’s a great city with hardworking people that deserve our best. We look forward to bringing Wahlburgers to the area and seeing the Steelers and Patriots meet in next year’s playoffs.”
The restaurants have a full bar with widescreen TVs, perfect for Steeler game watching. In addition to burgers, Wahlburgers serves sandwiches and salads and a kids menu. Bar drinks also include alcoholic frappes like the “funky monkey,” made with strawberry ice cream, vanilla vodka, creme de banana and creme de cocoa.
The day-to-day business operations of Wahlburgers are documented in an A&E show that was Emmy nominated.
