Friday March 24th
Pittsburgh Humanities Festival
This weekend marks a three-day festival of internationally-renowed academics, artists, intellectual innovators and more in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. Opening Reception: Walk on By
Artists explore homelessness in Allegheny County through video, zines, comics, paintings and drawings. The work will remain on display through April 2nd and tonight is a special opening reception from 6-9 p.m. This project is supported by a variety of local programs which serve the needs of the homeless in Pittsburgh. The exhibit is possible because of a donation from the SPROUT Fund and Future Tenant Residency Program. For more information, click HERE.
Saturday March 25th
Space Out! Astronomy Weekend
From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, families and individuals alike can learn how to navigate the stars, get an up close and personal look at the moon and meteorites and much more. Just a Short Run
This race’s title is deceiving–it’s actually a 30k (that’s 18.6 miles)! If you’re feeling ambitious go for all the 18 miles. If you’re not ready to go long, there’s also half marathon, 8.1 mile and 5k options. The race takes place in North Park. $40-$60 for registration, for more information click HERE.
Sunday March 26th
Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival & Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival
End your weekend at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center with this festival celebrating all things knitting and crocheting. You can learn to make a jump rope, new techniques in embroidery and more. $10 in advance, $15 at the door, for more information on the festival click HERE.
Beer Belly Yoga
East End Brewing Company is at it again with their fun afternoon of beer and yoga! Join them for a 45-minute yoga class taught by a teacher from I am Yoga in Squirrel Hill, a free 13 oz.
