It may not feel like it just yet, but spring is coming. We’re just a few short weeks away from the meteorological spring and you know what that means, time to start planning some fun outdoor dining adventures. Here are just seven great patios for spring dining in the ‘burgh. Have more to add to this list? Let us know in the comments and you may see it in a future post!
1. Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh
This German import on the South Side has quite the scenic view of Pittsburgh on their outdoor patio. Enjoy some pretzels and bier cheese while sipping on any of their classic Bavarian brews. They even have a beer of the month—be on the lookout for some delicious ones this spring.
2. Sienna Mercato
Sienna Mercato’s Italian eats are quite good—their wood-fired pizzas are a can’t miss. Their rooftop garden is what makes the restaurant truly magical though. Called “Il Tetto,” it is available for private events and offers 36 drafts, cocktails, wine and light bites. Their retractable glass roof opens up come spring.
3. Harris Grill
This relaxed and laid-back bar and grill with downtown, Shadyside and Mt. Washington locations has outdoor seating perfect for people watching. Enjoy classic fare like wings, chicken tenders (nicknamed “Britney Spears”) and Polish Church Basement Pierogies.
4. Redfin Blues
This waterfront spot serves up pub-style seafood and buckets of beer, perfect for doing some serious people-watching once the weather warms up a bit. Their seasonal hours begin on Sunday April 1st, so mark your calendars.
5. Church Brew Works
Of course everyone loves eating inside the church turned restaurant on Liberty Ave. in Lawrenceville but did you know they have outdoor seating as well? Enjoy pizza or unique items like a buffalo chicken pierogie sauté and an entirely gluten friendly menu.
6. Double Wide Grill
If you want quirky and fun, Double Wide Grill is it. Serving up some mean barbecue, the space is known for its beef brisket. There are also steaks, chicken and burgers all with the option of adding any of the grill’s famous sauces. The grill is located in a former gas station space and offers plenty of outdoor seating.
7. Pizzaiolo Primo
This Market Square eatery is a great place to request outdoor seating to check out all the hustle and bustle outside on a warm spring Pittsburgh day. Not to mention, their margherita pizza is divine. Also worth noting is their penne vodka.
