New Coaster at Kennywood – You’re in Steelers Country

For those who thought absolutely nothing could replace the Log Jammer, Kennywood has managed to unveil a ride that all of us Pittsburghers can get behind—”The Steel Curtain.” Code named “Project 412,” the coaster was unveiled July 19th at a press conference. The black and gold (of course) will break lots of records. First, it will break the Pennsylvania record for tallest roller coaster (at 220 feet) and the North American record for most inversions and the world record for tallest inversions.

The coaster will reach a top speed of 75 mph. Kennywood released renderings of the coaster, with plenty of Steeler-related adornments. The coaster is expected to be released in 2019. In the meantime, Kennywood fans can enjoy Thomas Town, a new family-friendly addition to the park.
