East Carnegie

East Carnegie is located in the southwestern portion of the City of Pittsburgh.  Bordered by the surrounding communities of Oakwood, Scott Township, Greentree and Crafton, East Carnegie has a small residential population and is considered a “natural area”.

This Pittsburgh neighborhood is home to the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School, Brashear High School and Bishop Canevin Catholic School.  A large part of the neighborhood is comprised of St. Paul Seminary and Chartiers Cemetery.

The Union Electric Steel company is a major employer in the area, located along Bell Avenue and Chartier’s Creek.  Most of the neighborhood share’s a zip code with Carnegie, 15106.  A portion of it is also located in the zip code of 15205.  One of the smaller Pittsburgh neighborhoods, it is just 277 acres with approximately 600 full time residents.
