Oakwood

Oakwood is located on the west end of Pittsburgh, bordered by the suburbs of Greentree and Crafton.  It is a quaint and relaxing community, close to downtown Pittsburgh.

This Pittsburgh neighborhood has a few recreational areas, and a recently renovated playground.  “The Resovoir”, once a swimming hole used by the locals, is now empty and sits as a large stone wall, about 18 feet high.  It’s used often as an urban rock climbing wall for climbers to practice.

The area has many pleasant homes with large yards and lots of trees… thus the shady streets of Oakwood.  There are undeveloped areas that give this neighborhood, while still in the city of Pittsburgh, a rural feel.

The Park houses recreation facilities and a newly renovated playground. Shopping is available at nearby Parkway Center Mall.
