U2 is performing tonight at Heinz Field. Believe it or not, it’s been 30 years since their iconic “Joshua Tree” album has been released. Tonight’s performance is their first stadium tour in six years.
If you’re headed “dahn” Heinz Field tonight, make sure to remember that the NFL clear bag policy is in effect (small clutch purses only, or a clear bag the size of a gallon storage bag). The Lumineers should be on between 6:30-7:30 p.m. and U2 will be on around 9.
Wondering what U2’s lead singer Bono has been doing since their last stadium tour? Well, he’s been hanging out with former president George W. Bush, for one. Bush posted a photo of the iconic singer on Instagram at his Crawford, Texas ranch. The two were talking about their charity work and Bush praised Bono’s work in the fight against AIDS.
Earlier this year, Bono stayed bi-partisan when he brunched with the Obamas in New York City. After they finished and left the restaurant, the trio got a standing ovation.
During U2’s last tour in 2011 closed its U.S. leg in Pittsburgh to much fanfare. Here’s a cool 360 fan cam from U2—see if you can spot yourself in the crowd!
Tonight’s weather is a low of 50, so it may be smart to grab your favorite hoodie before you head out to the concert. Enjoy a Pittsburgh Beautiful night with U2 and don’t forget to take a lot of pictures and send them to us—they may be featured on our Facebook page! Pittsburgh Beautiful will be on site to see U2 at Heinz Field as well, so stay connected and watch for instant pics and maybe even a live broadcast!
