Kick off the most festive time of year TONIGHT downtown! That’s right, it’s Light Up Night in Pittsburgh. Here’s your ultimate guide to everything you need to know.

Andy Grammer in Concert

The man behind hits like “Honey, I’m Good” and “Keep Your Head Up” is performing on the street tonight on stage at Ft. Duquesne Blvd.

Maggie Lindemann, an Instagram discovered singer, will be at the other stage near Grammer. Also up are local artists like Jeff Jimerson of the Penguins, Lyndsey Smith and Soul Distribution and Houserocker Joe Grushecky.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will be performing three 30-min. mini-concerts from The Nutcracker at Heinz Hall from 7 p.m. on.

Tree Lighting

Check out the tree that was lit at 11:30 this morning at the Allegheny County Courthouse. PPG Plaza’s tree lighting is at 5:30 p.m., One Oxford Centre is 5:45, Santa lights up the BNY Mellon Season of Lights at the same time. Finally, at 7 p.m. is the Highmark Unity Tree Lighting with fireworks afterwards.

The fireworks will be set off at exactly 9:38 p.m. to coincide with a holiday broadcast on Q92-9.

Light Up Night

The Comcast XFINITY Experience will give a winter sports virtual reality experience. There will be free hot chocolate and cell phone charging stations as well as the chance to make your own holiday e-card. The event will be at the Andy Warhol Bridge and Ft. Duquesne Blvd.

To celebrate their 100th anniversary, the City of Pittsburgh’s City-County Building will be open for an after-hours behind-the-scenes tour from 5-9 p.m. Friday. The City County Building lights their tree at 5 p.m.

At Fifth Avenue Place, there will be a display of Winter Wonderland ice sculptures. You can also make your own Northern Lights Display at the Children’s Museum or get an airbrush tattoo there too.

There will be free carriage rides from 6-9 p.m. at One Oxford Center as well as Santa’s reindeer paying a visit to do activities with kids like face painting.

The ice rink at PPG Place is open for business until midnight! The American Cancer Society is doing their Tribute of Light from 5:30-6 p.m. at PPG Place as well.

CBS Radio Pittsburgh is doing their 19th Annual NRG Santa Spectacular at Point State Park at 5 p.m.
