5 Things to Do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival Today (Sunday June 9th)

The Three Rivers Arts Festival, a celebration of everything Pittsburgh and more, runs until June 16th.   There’s so much to do and see, and over 200,000 visitors are expected.  It can be hard to decide!  Of course you can always go to this page to download the daily schedule… but we thought we’d put together a daily list of 5 things to do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival this year for you.

KMazur Art

Kathy Mazur was born and raised in Pittsburgh.  She worked for over 35 years in the corporate world in things like web design and technical writing.  After an early retirement, she began to redefine herself, discovering her passion for painting.  You can find out more about her on her website here.  She is at booth #42.

Satorious Designs

Things to Do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival Today

Satori is a Japanese Buddhist term for enlightenment that literally means “understanding.”  Amy Renee, the owner, has a BA in Graphic Design from La Roche College and a successful background in management.   In her college years, she had a passion for photography and making jewelry.  She would attend craft shows to show off and sell her designs.  A few years ago, she decided to make it her full time career.  All of her pieces are made  by hand and one-of-a-kind.  You can read more about her at her website here.  Satorious Designs is at booth 229.

Union Project

Things to Do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival Today

The Union Project celebrates the beauty of Earth with the public art garden project Community Blooms.  This is your chance to participate and use ceramic hand-building techniques and make a flower blossom out of clay, which they will fire in their kilns, add a stem and then “plant” in an outdoor community garden.  You can find out more about Union Project here.

This fun activity will take place at the Giant Eagle Creativity Zone in Point State Park today from noon until 6 PM.

Trinity Wiseman Band

Things to Do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival Today

Trinity, gaining recognition for her style, voice and guitar-playing, has been performing regularly in Pittsburgh.  You can find out more about her on her web site here.  She will be performing on the Dollar Bank Main Stage at Point State Park today at 2 PM.

Up and a Way Designs

Things to Do at the Three Rivers Arts Festival Today

Jackie Way created “up and a WAY designs” to rescue items destined for the trash by upcycling them into creative and unique treasures.  All of her burlap bags originated as coffee bean sacks from various countries around the world. You can find out more about her at her website here.  “up and a WAY designs” can be found at booth 22.

Be sure to share your experience with us… a great way is to download the Pittsburgh Beautiful App.  You can get it HERE for iPhone and HERE for Android!

None of the artists, musicians or activities featured have sponsored this post in any way.  The pictures are from the Three Rivers Arts Festival web site.  Pittsburgh Beautiful is not endorsing any of the members on this list.  We just put this together at random to give you a few things we think are interesting each day to see.  If we happen to visit any of these booths or participate in any of the activities, we will certainly let you know!  Thanks for helping to make Pittsburgh Beautiful.
