Pittsburgh has been the locale of choice for many movies over the years. Here are seven legendary movies shot in our wonderful city.



1. The Deer Hunter

The 1978 movie starring Robert de Niro and Christopher Walken was filmed partly in Clairton and McKeesport. The story in the movie takes place in Clairton.



2. Night of the Living Dead

George A. Romero gave us the first zombie movie, with filming locations including Monroeville Mall for some iconic scenes.



3. Flashdance

4. The Silence of the Lambs

A new Netflix movie, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, starring Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman and produced by Denzel Washington has been filming in the North Side. As of August 2019, it is currently still in production and due out soon.
