I have so many fond memories of going to Soergels for pumpkins, cornhusks and their delicious pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies—it’s just one of many reasons I love Pittsburgh. This month, head out to Soergels to grab some of the most beautiful pumpkins found in the city. Every year Soergels hosts a fall festival with tractor rides to the pumpkin patch, pick your own apples. Don’t forget to wander through the cornstalk maze or straw tunnel too. Cheeseman Farms

Head out to Butler County to visit this fabulous family-friendly farm. Kids will enjoy hay tunnels they can crawl through, a small petting zoo with farm animals and for the older kids, a haunted hayride to Cheeseman Fright Farm. The Fright Farm is open weekends and select Thursdays and Fridays and kids 12 and under need to come with an adult. Right near the airport lies Hozak Farms, formerly just strictly a Christmas tree farm. Now, pumpkins abound at this family owned farm. Trax Farms has been in business for over six generations. Wednesday nights in October head out to Hops and Hayrides, where patrons can pick their own six-pack and take a hayride.
