A Pittsburgh Love Story… To be continued.

Valentine’s Day is Wednesday, February 14th (all you guys out there… you’re welcome for the heads-up). We have a very special project we’re hoping to post on that day. In the meantime, we need your help! If you met your significant other in Pittsburgh, we want to hear from you. Send in a short video or some photos and a short description of your Pittsburgh love story to Pittsburgh Beautiful by emailing us at PBLoveStories@gmail.com  and we will post them in time for Valentine’s Day.

If you met at a fire hall wedding and later had one yourselves, or perhaps met for the first time at a Steeler game, we want to hear from you. If you shared your first kiss on Kennywood’s Log Jammer, we want to hear about it. If you got engaged atop Mount Washington, we want to know. We are excited to share just how romantic Pittsburgh is!

The deadline for sending in photos is one week before Valentine’s Day, Wednesday Feb. 7th.

  1. We were married at the ACA Church on the North Side. One of our favorite spots is Mt. Washington. Love Stiller town. “You can take the boy out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of the boy!”

  2. I actually picked Jim out at the Allegheny County Airport where he was attending aeronautical school. That was the Fall of 1962.
Got engaged on 8th Ave. Homestead in May 1963 and married in Holy Trinity Church, Duquesne, August 10, 1963, reception at the VFW hall located by the Duquesne Place bridge. It’s not quite Pittsburgh, but when talking to someone and they ask , “ where are you from “?……… and I answer “Pittsburgh “. And they ask what part then I know for sure they also are from the area. He started working for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh In 1967 and would you believe almost 51 years later STILL working for Westinghouse in Austin, TX… love being here and loved growing up in the Pittsburgh area. Love ?
    Go Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins!

  3. My husband and I were born 10 hours apart in the same hospital. Our mothers were one room apart. We met and fell in love our senior year of high school. We broke up after graduation and went our separate ways for 5 years until our friend Brett, showed Brian a picture of me. Brian wanted to see me again. We were engaged a month later. We immediately started a family, Andrew was born 10 days before our 1st anniversary. We were a happy young family and decided to expand. We had problems and agreed to stop. Almost immediately we found out I was pregnant. We also found out because of me the baby could have problems with her heart. I had fetal echocardiograms on her heart every 3 weeks for the rest of my pregnancy. Deanna was ironically born 15 days before our 5th anniversary. Our children beautiful children have now grown and Brian and I have been happily married for 23 years on March 25th.
