As a 10-year vet of being a therapy dog, Leo has been helping children get better. Now it’s time to help Leo. Out of hundreds of dogs nominated, Leo was chosen as a finalist in the Therapy Dog category for the American Humane Hero Dog Awards
So who is Leo and what are the American Humane Hero Dog Awards?
Leo is a therapy dog who works with children at the Children’s Institute in Squirrel Hill. He originally worked with children who had Prader-Willi Symptom. He also works with children who have Autism and are blind.

Some notable accomplishments in Leo’s career include helping a little girl speak for the first time in months and being chosen to accompany a blind student to therapy appointments.

The Hero Dog Awards are a huge deal in the animal community, nationwide. Finalists are flown to Beverly Hills to walk the red carpet to a program broadcast on The Hallmark Channel. Previous hosts include Beth Stern, Daisy Fuentes, and Richard Marx.
