Hello, beautiful people of Pittsburgh! Your beloved city is about to howl with delight as the Annual Community Mutt Strut, presented by PNC Bank and sponsored by the mighty Pittsburgh Pirates, is set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 16. And guess what? We have a team in the pack, too!
Hosted on the Great Lawn on the North Shore, the Mutt Strut is an event that truly embodies the spirit of Pittsburgh; community, collaboration, and canines! This doggy day out aims to raise awareness about the impact of medical service dogs in the lives of those living with disabilities, particularly our heroic U.S. military veterans and first responders.
What’s on the day’s agenda? A delightful dog-friendly walk, amusing pet dog trick demonstrations, a super fun dog costume contest, pet-related vendors, live music by our local Southern classic rock band Shady Mugs, scrumptious food trucks, and activities galore for the entire family. We promise you it’s going to be a tail-wagging good time!
Pittsburgh Beautiful is wagging its tail with excitement to invite you, our loyal readers, to join our team in this noble cause. We’re striving to reach a goal of $1000 in donations through our team fundraising link. We can’t chase this tail alone! We need you, our readers, to register and walk with us. Your participation and contribution will help Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs continue their remarkable work. This nationally recognized nonprofit has been training and pairing medical service dogs with individuals in need since 2010. Their mission? To help individuals regain their independence and enhance their quality of life through the unique bond between humans and canines.
So, let’s make a positive difference! Together, we can help this amazing organization meet its goals and support those who need it the most, one paw at a time.
