Ok… I just had to do that with the title to this post. On episode 5 of season 2 for the Pittsburgh Beautiful Podcast, I sit down with Pittsburgh’s Chief of Police, Scott Schubert. I met Scott and a gig at Emmanuel Fine Art Gallery in downtown Pittsburgh one night a couple years ago. He seemed like a pretty nice guy, as far as Chief’s go… personable and willing to have a conversation. He’s got a serious job, so you expect a serious person for a serious job. And before I go any further… please be sure to thank anyone in uniform for their service… every chance you get. These men and women start every day without knowing what they are going to run into… so… they deserve our thanks and we owe it to them to be respectful and helpful any way we can. Now… on with the show.
I noticed that Scott had an Instagram account – @pghpolicechief – and on top of that, he was posting some pretty fantastic pics of Pittsburgh. He even tagged a few #PittsburghBeautiful and we shared them on social media. Interesting. So I decided to ask him if he’d like to be on the Pittsburgh Beautiful podcast… and he accepted. So… here’s your chance to get to know Pittsburgh’s Chief of Police, Scott Schubert. A Pittsburgher through-and-through, and a pretty good photographer – he likes to give credit to his friend Emmanuel Panagiotakis (Manny) of the previously mentioned gallery, for the tips and tricks he’s learned, and a few of his fellow officers who pooled a little dough and gave him his first DSLR a couple years ago.
I’d like to give credit to the Chief – Scott… for helping to make Pittsburgh Beautiful in many ways, not the least of which is his service to our City and region. Thanks, Scott. Listen to Scott’s story on the Pittsburgh Beautiful Podcast right here.
