If one thing’s for certain, it’s that Pittsburghers love their pie. We can’t get enough of the fruit or sweets-filled triangles of goodness. We put together a list of 5 slices of the best pie in Pittsburgh. If there’s something you want to see on this list, let us know and it may be in a future post!
1. Oakmont Bakery’s selection of mini pies
If you aren’t good at making decisions, especially when it comes to desserts, Oakmont offers a delicious array of mini pies. There’s mini banana pies, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate, coconut, pumpkin, key lime and fruit tarts. Grab one of each to sample and decide which one’s your favorite!
2. Priory Fine Pastries’ Chocolate Peanut Butter
Priory Fine Pastries has been a place for residents to pop in for coffee and pastries for 14 years now. They also are a destination for couples planning weddings. One of the best parts of the Priory is their chocolate peanut butter pie. Decadent and rich, it’s the perfect item to have when you really want a treat.
3. Soergel Orchards’ Pumpkin
No Pittsburgh fall would be complete without a slice of Soergel Orchards’ pumpkin pie. A first bite of its pleasantly spiced nutmeg and cinnamon transports you to an autumn wonderland. Soergels’ pie crusts are so golden and flaky you’ll be begging for the recipe.
4. The Pie Place’s Strawberry Rhubarb
Upper St. Clair’s The Pie Place is home to 31 different flavors of pie. All are incredibly delicious, but a specific summer flavor is amazing. Made with tart strawberries and rhubarb, it is absolute perfection with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream melting on top.
5. Eleven’s Banana Cream Pie
Eleven is a fancy restaurant, but don’t let that deter you from visiting. Stick around after dinner to try their banana cream pie. Made with fresh banana pudding, crispy vanilla wafers and dulce de leche mousse, it is a true crowning glory to any dinner at its location on Smallman Street in the Strip District very close to downtown Pittsburgh.
There was a diner on rt.22 I think ? Murraysville, passed The Eathan Allen and Levins. I forgot the name of the diner, but not their PEANUT BUTTER PIE ?
Has to have been dicks ?
